Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia will be brought before a CBI court today at 2 p.m. The Aam Aadmi Party leader, who is being held in CBI custody and being investigated in connection with the Delhi liquor policy, has applied for bail.

The Delhi Police, Rapid Action Force, and Central Reserve Police Force have been stationed outside the CBI headquarters in Delhi as the agency prepares to bring Manish Sisodia before the court at the end of his 5-day remand.
Manish Sisodia stated in his bail request that keeping him in custody will “serve no fruitful purpose” because all recoveries in the case have already been made.
Mr Sisodia is accused of corruption in the development of a liquor policy for the national capital, which was shelved after Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena reported it to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The CBI arrested the 51-year-old on Sunday evening for alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now-cancelled liquor policy for 2021-22. Jain is currently being held in Tihar Jail on suspicion of money laundering. On Tuesday, they resigned from the Delhi Cabinet.

Mr Sisodia filed an appeal in the Supreme Court the day after his arrest. However, the court told him that he should have gone to the high court, so Mr Sisodia withdrew his application and stated that he will go to the trial court.
The investigation agency is expected to seek additional custody of Mr Sisodia today.
